Australian Grand Prix winner Thierry Boutsen will return to Adelaide at the 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival, getting behind the wheel of Leyton House’s first Formula 1 car and a Leyton House Porsche 962C Le Mans car at the event on February 28 and March 1.

Boutsen scored one of his three Formula 1 grand prix wins at the Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide in 1989. He raced in Formula 1 across 11 seasons from 1983 to 1993, including in Adelaide on eight occasions with one win, two podiums and a total of five points-scoring finishes.

The March 871 was the first Formula 1 car of the union between March and Leyton House in 1987 – a partnership that developed a cult following. The March 871, powered by a Cosworth DFZ V8 engine, raced across the 1987 Formula 1 season, scoring points at the Monaco Grand Prix.

The Kremer Racing Leyton House-liveried Porsche 962C raced at the Le Mans 24 Hours. The Porsche 962C was the dominant car of the Group C era of sportscar racing, helping the German manufacturer win seven Le Mans 24 Hours races in a row between 1981 and 1987.

Boutsen joins Mika Häkkinen, David Coulthard, Valtteri Bottas and Stefan Johansson as the Formula 1 drivers who are confirmed for the 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival so far. The March 871 will be driven by Boutsen in the Formula 1 category, alongside the likes of the 1974 Hesketh 308, 1985 Ferrari 156/85s, 2000 Arrows A21, 2001 Arrows A22 and 2001 Jaguar R2 with more to be confirmed.

The 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival will once again feature various categories, ranging from Formula 1 cars, V8 Supercars, sportscars, touring cars, motorbikes, drift cars and more with the action non-stop without a break in track activity at any stage of the day. Off track there will be car displays, kids' zones, bars and food trucks, exhibitors and traders, activations and more, in a picnic in the park setting.
