Thierry Boutsen on returning to the scene of his classic grand prix win

The winner of the 1989 Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide, Belgium’s Thierry Boutsen, returns to Adelaide at the 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival.
Boutsen will get behind the wheel of Leyton House’s first Formula 1 car and a Leyton House Porsche 962C Le Mans car at the event on February 28 and March 1.
Boutsen scored one of his three Formula 1 grand prix wins at the Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide in 1989. He raced in Formula 1 across 11 seasons from 1983 to 1993, including in Adelaide on eight occasions with one win, two podiums and a total of five points-scoring finishes.
He joined the FIVEAA Sports Show to discuss his time racing in Adelaide, returning for the Adelaide Motorsport Festival and more.
