A Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 that raced in America and Australia will be back on track with owner and driver Peter Rullo at the 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival on February 28 and March 1.

The Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 was originally built for Nissan’s American GT3 program and raced in the Pirelli World Challenge by the globally-recognised racing brand Always Evolving. It scored Nissan’s first overall win in the Pirelli World Challenge in 2015, with Australian James Davison behind the wheel.

The car came to Australia to compete in the 2017 Bathurst 12 Hour, run by Hobson Motorsport. After showing promising pace, it was involved in a heavy crash and suffered extensive damage and looked set to be a write-off. But the GT-R was rebuilt by Summons Racing, who installed a new engine and restored the car to full GT3 spec. Since then, the car has been significantly re-engineered with tubular front and rear subframes, larger turbochargers, the engine repositioned approximately 200mm lower and rearward for improved weight distribution, with an upgraded transaxle to manage the additional power output.

It was acquired by Rullo in January 2025 with the 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival set to be the car’s first appearance under his ownership. Rullo will drive the car in the GT Style category at the event.

The 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival will once again feature various categories, ranging from Formula 1 cars, V8 Supercars, sportscars, touring cars, motorbikes, drift cars and more with the action non-stop without a break in track activity at any stage of the day. Off track there will be car displays, kids' zones, bars and food trucks, exhibitors and traders, activations and more, in a picnic in the park setting.
