Formula 1’s statistician mastermind coming to the Adelaide Motorsport Festival

Sean Kelly, aka the ‘Virtual Statman’, Formula 1’s chief statistician, will bring his unparalleled knowledge to the 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival on February 28 and March 1.

Kelly will appear in the Adelaide Marriott Grand Marquee and be a special guest in the commentary team at the 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival, held on the Victoria Park section of the Adelaide Street Circuit that hosted the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix from 1985 to 1995.

Working in Formula 1 since 2003, Kelly is the primary source of the historical facts, records and improbable facts mentioned by commentators and displayed in graphics during live Formula 1 coverage globally. In addition to providing content and statistics to F1.com, Kelly provides a live streaming service of data and facts directly to commentary boxes for over 21 TV networks, including F1 TV and Sky Sports.

Formula 1 drivers who will be attending the 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival include Mika Häkkinen, David Coulthard, Valtteri Bottas, Thierry Boutsen, Stefan Johansson, Martin Donnelly and more, while the Formula 1 category will feature cars ranging from the 1970s to the 2000s.

The 2026 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival will once again feature various categories, ranging from Formula 1 cars, V8 Supercars, sportscars, touring cars, motorbikes, drift cars and more with the action non-stop without a break in track activity at any stage of the day. Off track there will be car displays, kids' zones, bars and food trucks, exhibitors and traders, activations and more, in a picnic in the park setting.
