A Gen2 Formula E car will be on display in the RAA E-Motion Zone, courtesy of the ABB FIA Formula E world championship series naming-rights sponsor, ABB.
ABB, as a global leader in the development of the world's fastest charging technology, has been the title sponsorship partner of the ABB FIA Formula E world championship series since 2018 and recently took on a new additional role within the series as the official charging supplier, providing fast charging infrastructure for all teams.
The ABB FIA Gen2 Formula E race car is being shown in Australia for the first time, featuring in the RAA E-Motion Zone at the 2023 Adelaide Motorsport Festival.
The 900kg battery electric-powered race car boasts a 250kW (335 brake horsepower) electric motor. The combination of light weight and huge torque provides blistering acceleration of zero to 100km/h in 2.8 seconds.
“With the interest and following this series has had globally over eight fantastic seasons we are delighted to be able to showcase to visitors of the Adelaide Motorsport Festival this innovative vehicle for the first time in Australia,” said Steve Amor, marketing manager for ABB Australia’s charging portfolio.
"The Formula E vehicle at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival in the RAA E-Motion Zone ABB will also have one of their 24kW DC portable fast chargers on display."
