Daryl Beattie to ride Honda CB1100R in 2024

Daryl Beattie will join fellow premier class motorbike grand prix winners Chris Vermeulen and Kevin Magee at the 2024 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival, riding a Honda CB1100R at the event on Saturday 16 March.

Beattie raced in the grand prix motorcycle world championship (now known as MotoGP) between 1992 and 1997, winning three 500cc grand prix races and finishing runner-up in the championship in 1995.

The Honda CB1100R was produced in limited numbers from 1980 to 1983; a four-stroke 1000cc road-legal sports bike. It was Honda's first homologation special, racing in production class events across Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

The 2024 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival features an enhanced motorbike category, including Vermeulen riding a Team Aspar Aprilia ART GP13 grand prix bike, Magee riding a Yamaha YZR 500cc two-stroke grand prix bike in addition to Superbikes, production bikes, road bikes and more.

New to the 2024 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival is the Honda Trackside Villa, a trackside marquee featuring all-day dining in a Honda-themed exclusive area. The villa will feature Honda motorbikes, cars, identities and more, including long-time Formula 1 team principal Guenther Steiner.

Categories featuring Formula 1, V8 Supercars, Group C and A touring cars, sportscars, IndyCars and more will again feature over the course of the Adelaide Motorsport Festival, with more news on categories, star cars and drivers and on and off-track activations coming soon.
