Australian motorsport legend Craig Lowndes will drive a 1988 Arrows A10B Megatron in the Formula 1 category at the 2024 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival on March 16 and 17.
Lowndes, seven-time winner of the Bathurst 1000 and three-time Supercars champion, is a regular at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival, jumping into the Arrows A10B Megatron amongst other cars in 2024.
The Arrows A10B Megatron was raced by Eddie Cheever during the 1988 Formula 1 season. It was designed by legendary Formula 1 technical director Ross Brawn and is powered by a BMW turbocharged engine that was rebadged as a Megatron, in the last season of the turbocharged Formula 1 era of the 1970s and 1980s.
Arrows claimed fifth place in the 1988 Formula 1 constructors' world championship, with Cheever scoring a third place in the A10B at the 1988 Italian Grand Prix.
Held the week prior to the Australian Grand Prix, the Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival is a museum in motion, displaying historic, rare and significant racing vehicles on the Victoria Park section of the Adelaide Street Circuit.
Categories featuring Formula 1, V8 Supercars, Group C and A touring cars, sportscars and more will feature over the course of the Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival, in addition to on-track demonstrations, off-track displays, villas and more.
