The Adelaide Motorsport Festival celebrates all forms of motoring and motorsport. At the 2023 edition, the Adelaide Motorsport Festival RAA E-Motion Zone brings together the latest electric and hybrid vehicles, electric race and rally cars, electric bicycles, scooters and motorbikes, a solar and battery technology showcase and so much more, right in the heart of the event precinct in Victoria Park on March 25 and 26.
The Royal Automobile Association of South Australia (RAA) is proactive in its approach to changes in mobility and transport, and is the naming-rights sponsor of the area. Exhibitors featuring electric vehicles and products in the RAA E-Motion Zone include Audi, BMW, Hyundai, McLaren, Mercedes, Porsche, Toyota and more.
On the motorsport front, World Rally Championship winner Hayden Paddon will drive his revolutionary Hyundai EV Rally Car, a Tesla Model 3 race car (winner of the Targa 130 category at the Targa South West) will be on track, the TOCEVA Team will be in attendance, a Gen2 ABB Formula E car will be on display and Australian motorsport legend Craig Lowndes will be giving one lucky RAA member a hot lap in an electric race car. There will also be scooters, bikes, surfboards and even a plane, courtesy Bader Aero.
RAA CEO Nick Reade said the new inclusion is yet another way RAA is helping South Australians learn more about the electrification of transport.
"As the state’s largest member organisation, we have an important role to play in helping educate South Australians on the benefits of electrified transport,” he said.
“Eventgoers can look forward to experiencing the latest in electric vehicle technology across RAA and other key players in the market - and enjoy hands-on experiences with this new tech.
“We’re thrilled our partnership is helping to bring a greater future focus to this much-loved heritage Adelaide Motorsport Festival.”
Adelaide Motorsport Festival director Tim Possingham said he expects people to be excited that the event they know and love will be bolstered by some exciting new additions this year.
